How to.....escape from quick sand

123654789When you're on an island with lots of quick sand swamps and puddles follow these instructions.

You will need a large stick

1. When you feel you are slowly sinking quickly activate your stick by. . .

2.Quickly slip the large stick under you then quickly but carefully move it down to under your hips.

3.Slowly pull out your legs and arms (if they are in the quick sand)

4.Spread your arms and legs apart and use them to help you back to dry land.

Tip// Take the quickest route back to dry land and you are once again safe.

Question of the week

Is the world a dangerous place for Kids? What should we do to keep safe.

The world is a dangerous place for Kids but..... it depends on where you are. Being in your own backyard and in the playground you are safe. If you are in a dark alley all by yourself any thing can happpen. So to keep safe if your in town or anywhere always keep with some one even if it is your friend or your mum.

At the chess tournament

On saturday I went to the dunedin chess tournament. I had a good time there. I won four out of six games and I bet a girl in four moves and I also bet a year 8. I had a really good time apart from I did not like the trip going up there because my friend and I share a packet of lollies and I told Katie of our Enrich teachers that I felt sick. I spewed up lollies on the side of the road. After that I felt fine. Last of all to finish off our day we went to the Black swan for our tea and I had chicken nuggets and chips and it was a real feast. On the way going home I felt fine and I got home at 10.30 and dropped into bed.

A questioner

For my question this week I am going to ask you
Do you wonder about things and ask questions to find out answers?

If that is you comment on my blog and tell me why and how.

young leaders

All the year six's this year went to young leaders just like last year.  young leaders is held in duniden. It's a conference we went to and I learnt alot about leadership. We had people from all places come in and talk to us about their dreams and acomplishments.  My favourite talker was Alison Shanks.
Because she use to be a net ball player but she got sick of sitting on the bench all the time, so she started cycling and now she is a world champion cyclist. She tells us how she alwaysgot nervouse about the beeper that goes off before the race, so she recorded it and started listening to it in the hotel she was staying in to get use to it. She used to get complaints that everyone could hear it and it was making them all very nervous. Now she is not very nervouse about the buzzer any more. She has also had some crashes but that is another story.

When we were up in duniden we also went to discovery world, we stayed the night over there and played with all the stuff they have their. The next day we went to the butterfly place and I saved a butterfly from dying because it was in a pluddle of water and I put it on a dry rock to dry and I think it is now living today. We also had a maori lesson and learnt lots about their culture. Last of all for our visit we went to the pool and then went home. We had a great two days and I learnt lots about all different types of leadership.

Why we have blogs

Blogs are a great tool we use for learning and finding out things.  If you keep reading you will learn more on why I have a blog, and it might even convince you to get one.

A blog is a great learning tool to help you, for example I can make a  blog all about animals, and if someone wants to learn about animals they can just visit my blog.  (so blogs help Leaning enormously.)

Blogs are basically a diary on the internet because you can put photos, widgets, games and your passion on them almost anything.

Blogs can be used to chat to others about work you have put on your blog, also how your day is going.

But my favourite tool for using a blog is you can use it to help teach people about internet safety by making a blog about safety on the internet and tell people about your blog and they might even visit it and learn how to keep safe on thee internet.

So that is why blogs aren't a waste of time and why I have one .
